Beaches of the Treasure Coast

Hutchinson IslandThe beaches of St. Lucie and Martin County are a place to leave your cares behind and roast and toast in the South Florida sunshine. Florida is called the Sunshine State, you know.

When my customers come to look for a house in Port St. Lucie they sometimes don’t get to make it out to see our beaches and what a shame that is! As long as it’s not raining, our St Lucie and Martin County beaches are something to enjoy all year long.

Our beaches are onĀ Hutchinson Island, which is a barrier island. To the east is the Atlantic Ocean and to the west is the Indian River lagoon. A lot of residents enjoy water sports in the river on the causeways.

There are three causeways that lead you to the beaches of Hutchinson Island

  1. Fort Pierce Causeway
  2. Jensen Beach
  3. Stuart

Some other good highlights are that in general, beach access is FREE. Most public beaches have a place to park your car, along with a shower and a bathroom. Two “major” beaches are Jensen Beach which is right at the end of the Jensen Beach causeway and Stuart Beach which is at the south side of Hutchinson Island. Both of these beaches offer ample parking and concession stands.

For those who missed out on the beaches, I’ve made a video to give you some of the highlights!
